What is a game jam?
A game jam is an event where game enthusiasts come together and create a game based on a theme that has been given by the organizers.
When does the event start?
The event will start Friday, February 10th.
Doors will open at 7PM, and the event will begin at 8PM.
How long is the event?
48 hours from start to finish. See the schedule here.

Building SE2 in the Great Hall, 3700 Willingdon Ave, Burnaby, BC V5G 3H2.
Who is this event for?
Anyone is welcome, regardless of experience.
Is there a minimum age limit?
No, but if you are under 19 years of age, there is a waiver that your guardian must sign.
How much does it cost?
The tickets cost $20, with a 50% discount for students.
We will ask for student IDs from student ticket holders.
Will I be reimbursed for my trip there?
Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide reimbursement for your trip.
Can I stay overnight?
Yes! However, please make sure you are properly equipped for the night. Warm clothes and maybe even a sleeping bag is recommended!

Do I need a team?
Jams are usually done is teams, but it's completely up to you whether or not you'd like to work in one. If you do want a team but do not have one, you will have a chance at the event before the jamming starts to mingle with the rest of attendees and make or join a team.
How much game development experience do I need to attend the event?
You do not need any experience at all. This is meant to be a fun event for anyone with any level of experience in game development. Even if you know very little about game development, you will learn a lot about it during the 48 hours.

    • 07:30 pm - Dinner & team formation
    • 09:00 pm - Team formation deadline
  • Saturday
    • 09:00 am - Breakfast
    • 11:00 am - 05:00 pm - Sponsors on site
    • 03:00 pm - Group photo
    • 07:00 pm - Dinner
  • Sunday
    • 09:00 am - Breakfast
    • 04:00 pm - Submission deadline
    • 04.00 pm - Early dinner and open arcade
    • 04:45 pm - Presentation application deadline
    • 05:00 pm - Presentation begins
    • 07:00 pm - Closing ceremony (Prizes and closing speeches)
    • 07:30 pm - Event over
    • 08:30 pm - Venue closed
What To Bring
  • Your ticket - if you have a student ticket, don't forget to bring your Student ID with you
  • Jamming gear!
    • Laptop, charger, headphones, drawing tablet, mouse, etc.
  • Some cash for snacks
  • Extension cord - you may be sitting too far away from a power outlet
  • If you will be staying overnight:
    • A change of clothes (make sure you have something warm with you)
    • Something to help you sleep/nap (like a blanket, sleeping bag, neck pillow, etc.)
    • Personal hygiene products
      • Toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.
